DAGENAIS,
MAXIME - Estate News Article - J. O. Collerette, former partner of Dagenais,
in mining and prospecting, files claim seeking recovery of mining property in
Clear Creek,
and $10, 187 which Dagenais received from the sale of the property belong to
Collerette.
The suit is a result of a deed of trust by Collerette in 1898, when he
transferred all
his mining property to Dengenais so the latter might have freedom in
management. He notes
his friend died alone, and in his room were considerable sums of money, deeds,
deposit
certificates. He charges that almost immediately after Dagenais' death some
relatives
surreptitiously entered his room and removed these valuable belongings, and are
now hiding
them. Collerette says these papers would show him to be the owner of the
property he
now seeks to recover and that it was merely held in trust by Dagenais. He asks
the recovery
of the $10, 187 and he be decreed to be owner of certain Denver Real Estate.

DAVENPORT, CHARLES - Death News Article - Boulder,
Dec 7, of Lander, Wyo., died
in the University Hospital, renewing the fears of a
labor outbreak in the strike-
affected coal district. He was found beside the C. & S. Railroad track last
night,
badly bruised and semi-conscious, he died without
being able to tell how his injuries
were received. Non-union men declare he was attacked
by strikers. Strikers assert
he was run down by a switch engine. The coroner,
through inquest, will attempt to
decide the cause tomorrow. (Article extensive in
reporting the strike situation in
this area.)RMN 12/08/1911 Page 1 - Death News
Article - Boulder, Dec 11, coroner's
inquest into the cause of death of Charles Davenport
of Casper, Wyoming, near Lafayette,
last Wednesday will be held in this city tomorrow.
He was found in a dying condition with
numerous cuts and bruises on his body. Authorities
believe his death was a result of a
beating. The nature and location of the various
wounds has shattered the theory of a
railroad accident and it is declared certain that
the man was beaten.

DEITER, PETER -
Death News Article - at Pueblo, Colo., murder suspect Bay Gordon is
charged with his murder. A man said to be Gordon was arrested in Oklahoma quite
by chance
and is being held for Pueblo authorities. William F. McCafferty, of Pueblo,
while in
an Oklahoma town last week, saw a man he thought was Gordon and had the fellow
locked up.
Two years ago Gordon came to Pueblo and met Deiter, who took a liking to the
young man and
employed him. Later Deiter was missed and was reported to have gone east for an
extended
trip. Gordon conducted a sale and disposed of much of Dieter's valuable
livestock. He
also secured money Deiter had deposited in a Pueblo bank. Gordon's anxiety to
get rid
of the livestock caused suspicion on him and an investigation revealed Deiter's
body
under a hay stack. A deputy sheriff will leave for Oklahoma to identify the man
held there.

DONNEVAN, P. H.
- Death News Article - formerly with the Rocky Mountain Bell Telephone Co.,
was found dead on the track at Moffat Road, near Rollinsville yesterday.
Identification
was made by letters in his pockets. Friend D. A. Sutton reported he had
recently been
acting strange, giving up his position where he would soon be a pensioner,
purchased a
mine near Boulder and talked vaguely of a great fortune his was to make. He had
moved
there and Sutton believed his mind was affected. One time he came to Boulder,
minus his
clothes. Later at Union Station in Denver his actions attracted attention. The
Coroner
learned at Rollinsville that Donnevan had tried to steal a ride to Denver on
the freight
train and fell off and was killed.

Wa-Ti-Ka-Na - full blooded Indian Chief of the Osages, came to Denver to take
the remains
of his son, Me-Ti-An-Kah, age 15, who died Monday at Mercy Hospital.
Wa-Ti-Ka-Na arrived
in Denver with Richard Conway, a member of his tribe to act as interpreter, as
he does
not speak the white man's tongue. While here he demanded the best that could be
furnished
him during his stay, including a rented automobile, that he might travel in a
manner
befitting his station. Though used to finding his way through trackless wilds,
Wa-Ti-Ka-Na
found much difficulty in traversing the mazes of the city streets. His son came
to Denver less
than a week ago in the last stages of tuberculosis. He was stricken some months
ago and was
sent to Byers, Colo., where he steadily failed in health. With his father, the
boy lived in
Pawhuska, Okla., but his remains were sent to Fairfax to be interred in the
ancient burying
ground of the Osages. The services will be observed with all the pomp and
ceremony of the tribe.

a clerk in the city engineer's office and well-known
politician of the Third Ward, died
yesterday afternoon. He died soon after being
removed from his home at 1303 Champa St. to
the county hospital. Mrs. Ely instituted divorce
proceedings three weeks ago and left for
her former home in Delta, Kan, refusing to

been sullen and brooded constantly. When discovered
in his home he walked to the ambulance
unassisted. At the hospital while giving information

EMRICH, HORACE H. - Death News Article - one of the best known graduates of the
Colorado
State School of Mines, died Wednesday at Kishtyn, Russia. It was shot in his
office and
notice has been received that the funeral will be Kishtyn Friday afternoon. He
was
general manager for an English company owning extensive copper mines and of
smelters at
Kishtyn. About one year ago the vaults of the company were robbed and he was
active in
prosecuting the robbers. It is presumed that in this he incurred the enmity of
friends of
the robbers, and that his death was the result. This theory, however, is only
problematical
in the absence of any further advices from Mrs. Emrich. His mother and two
brothers,
Clarence and Jay, live in Golden and his sister, Mrs. Alfred J. Nichols, lives
at
4905 East Twenty-second Avenue. Mrs. Emrich's mother is Mrs. Nina P. Robinson,
2025
Fairfax Street. Mrs. Emrich stated she will leave as soon as possible for
Denver. He married
Miss Nellie Robinson, the marriage took place in Pueblo. (Extensive article

Trinidad
Official will plead self-defense when charged with murder. Fowler is being held
for the
death of J. W. Bundy and the injuring of Charles Samuels. He says he
encountered the two
men with his two daughters, Ruby and Hilda, and will plead self-defense. He
claims he
had been attacked when he accused Bundy and his companion of attempting to lure
the girls
into a rooming house and he used his knife when he feared his life was in
danger. Fowler
states while waiting for medicine for his wife he saw his daughters in front of
a drug
store. Later joined by two men and stated up Animas Street together. When they
turned into
the alleyway leading to the rear of the Main Hotel he overtook the party and
ordered the
girls to come with him, and engaged in an altercation with Bundy. Police report
a room
had been engaged at the main Hotel, Samuels, however, protests that he was not
a member
of the party and did not come with them until he saw the altercation. The girls
have
refused to say anything. Mrs. Fowler is in a state of shock, and Mrs. Bundy is
in a state
bordering on hysteria. Bundy was a well known auto driver and appeared in
Denver motor races.
Formerly employed at Mathewson Motor Co. Samuels is a member of a prominent
Trinidad family.
The Fowler family consists of the parents, three daughters, Garnet, 21; Ruby
17, and Hilda, 16.
